9728 #230, VF, fresh, tied on XF fresh, intact, unsealed Willis & Baker Commission Merchants envelope by an XF strike of the first Barry experimental machine killer (Funk & Bond type Q1, known used in Washington, DC between May-September 1894), AUG 3, 1894 use. Quite scarce and a gem example of this machine cancellation. $175
9807 #237, fine, sound 10¢ Columbian, tied by WASHINGTON D.C. REG double oval killer paying registry on Post Office Department penalty envelope, manuscript "Stamp Dept.", magenta MAY 7 1894 double circle REGISTERED WASHINGTON D.C. postmark, to Portland ME. VF and intact cover, tiny tear at top.  The content most certainly consisted of stamp proofs or special printings, with the buyer having provided 10¢ for 2¢ postage plus 8¢ registry. $75
9729 #230, fine, soundSAN FRANCISCO JUL 20 93 postmark and ellipse killer tie to underpaid cover to Canada, "MORE-TO-PAY" and large Canadian "2" postage due hand stamp, 7/22 Seattle transit postmark and Victoria 7/23 receiver on reverse.  Cover reduced 5mm at right.  Unusual with scarce Canadian markings. $70
9727 #220, fine, sound, tied by a VF+ strike of right pointing arrow fancy killer (unlisted in Salkind) duplexed to APPLE CREEK O. DEC 9 1892 postmark (Wayne County, Ohio 1832-) on VF cover to New Bedford PA, tiny reduction at left. Scarce. $30
9409 #232 SE, #236 on unreduced #U311 (missing flap), a 1¢ convenience overpay on double weight registered cover, the stamps and indicia canceled by five clear tying strikes of small Masonic square & compass with letter G killer, First National Bank NEWCASTLE, PA corner. Fancy cancels other than stars are quite scarce on Columbian issue covers, fraternal symbol killers are rare.  Very unusual and desirable. $100
7380 #231, fine, sound broken hat variety, tied on VF intact corner advertising cover by MONTICELLO, IND, JUN 13, 1894 postmark and duplexed solid 5-point star in crescent fancy killer, sent to Chicago (machine JUN 14 receiver).  Fancy cancels like this are exceptionally difficult to locate on 2¢ Columbian issue covers. SOLD

j0025 #264, fine pair, right stamp small faults, tied by THOMASTON, ME JAN 29 1897 postmark with XF strike of pumpkin mask fancy killer (Whitfield 333) on intact cover to Northampton, MA (JAN 30 receiver and right side tears on reverse). A very nice example of this Maine fancy cancel. $50
9187 #279B tied by an XF strike of ornate letter "P" killer (inverted), POLLOKSVILLE N.C. JUL 13 1901 postmark (Jones County 1839-) to Housatonic, MA, forwarded to Woods Hole. Cover contains letter soliciting children's clothing for a charity school. SOLD
